Course Overview

To provide individuals, responsible for undertaking accident investigations, with an understanding of how to conduct an accident investigation.

  • Identify your responsibilities, accountabilities and legal liabilities, as they apply to accident investigation
  • Recognise the function and practicalities of accident investigation systems
  • Demonstrate how to identify the direct causes of an accident
  • Recognise how safety management systems failures are investigated
  • Demonstrate how to record accident investigations
  • Identify how to avoid some of the problems and poor practice associated with the investigation process
  • Feel confident to devise and recommend control measures to mitigate the risk of recurrence
