Recruitment – Inclusive Practice

Course Information

The course provides an opportunity for managers involved in recruitment to consider the implications of equality legislation and best practice.  Delegates will update their learning and have an opportunity to enliven their understanding of reaching and recruiting the best talent for each role.  It can act as a stand-alone module or be combined with three related workshops to create a comprehensive programme on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

 

Delegates will:

  • Refresh and add to prior knowledge of equality legislation and best practice, including protected characteristics, types of discrimination, bullying and harassment and the implications of not complying with the law.
  • Identify best practice in recruitment and selection.
  • Identify the difference between positive action and positive discrimination, explain when positive action can be used to promote equality and describe what positive action techniques can be employed.
  • Create an action plan to embed the learning into roles as managers.

    To provide essential safety information for staff at risk from sharps and blood bourne viruses.

  • Identify situations where you may be exposed to sharps and needle sticks and know safe precautions to take
  • Explore company policy and legal outlines on the management of sharps
  • Understand what to do if you suffer a puncture injury
  • Understand how to store and dispose of sharps and needlesticks
